A Bethpage teen is accused of going on a violent rampage in his high school.
Police say 18-year-old Charles Sheridan beat up a 15-year-old student Wednesday inside Bethpage High School. After Sheridan was pulled off the 15-year-old, police say he attacked another student and robbed him of $40.
Sheridan then allegedly pushed a 14-year-old student and berated him with anti-Hispanic slurs. Police say Sheridan threatened to kill a teacher who tried to intervene and hit a different teacher in the face while being escorted out of the school.
Bethpage High School says it is conducting an internal investigation and is cooperating with police.
Sheridan pleaded not guilty to charges including assault and robbery. He was released from jail and is due back in court on Jan. 27. Sheridan was suspended from school indefinitely and temporary orders of protection have been issued for the six alleged victims.
