yesterdayA man robbed a 7-Eleven in Bellmore Friday and used a taxi as his getaway car, police say.
Detectives say the suspect walked into the store on Jerusalem Avenue around 6 a.m. He allegedly went behind the counter, pushed an employee out of the way and grabbed multiple packs of cigarettes.
Police say the thief took off in a light blue Subaru with a "taxi" sign on top and the word "taxi" written on the sides.
No one was hurt in the incident.
