Police say one person is dead after a home invasion in Bay Shore Thursday.Officials say the incident occurred around 10 p.m. at a home on Penataquit Avenue. Police say two people entered the home and demanded money and drugs from 20-year-old Robert Stone.Stone told the men he needed to put his pit bulls in his bedroom, according to police, but retrieved a loaded rifle. A gunfight erupted and one of the suspects, 37-year-old Lawrence Walker, of Queens Village, was fatally shot. The other suspect escaped, according to police, and is being sought. Officials say one of the pit bulls was shot in the face, but should be OK. Police confirmed that there was marijuana in the house.
