A Baldwin man is accused of biting off part of his roommate’s ear and stabbing him.
Police say it happened Thursday when Marcus O’Brian got into a fight with the man at the home on Grand Avenue.
Detectives say the victim escaped and called police from a neighbor’s home.
The neighbor who helped the victim spoke with News 12 and wished to remain anonymous. She said she woke to screams coming from a nearby apartment and immediately called the police. The neighbor says there were never any problems in the past with them and they normally stayed pretty quiet. She says she saw the victim bleeding from his head and went outside to help.
O’Brien also allegedly injured a police officer as he was trying to arrest him.
Nassau County Police say that 911 first received a noise complaint from the neighbor at 5:13am. Two officers responded to location and determined that it was unfounded at the time. The neighbor called again at 5:53am for an injured male. Numerous officers and police medics responded and transport the injured male to hospital.
Police arrested O'Brien at the scene. A third cal to 911 was made while officers were responding to scene.
