Police say a teenager attacked a baby while snatching a woman's diamond necklace off her neck at a Hempstead laundromat.
The entire ordeal was caught on camera just before noon Tuesday. The suspect entered the 24-Hour Laundry on Fulton Avenue and lunged at a female employee. In the process, a customer's baby was knocked over.
The baby hit her head on the floor and was kicked as the suspect grabbed the woman's throat and snatched her diamond necklace.
According to court documents, the suspect yelled out that he didn't "give a [expletive]" about the baby.
The baby suffered head and chest injuries. She went to a hospital to be checked out and is doing better today.
Police tracked down and arrested Raphael Brown, 19, for the attack. Brown was arraigned today.
Court papers show Brown told police he was high. He faces a number of charges and is being held on $500,000 bail.
