A Bronx woman was charged Thursday in the death of a 20-month-old toddler.
Athena Skeeter, 40, is charged with manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child in connection to the death of Cardell Williamson.
According to a criminal complaint, Skeeter told investigators that she was wrestling with Williamson when she stepped on his stomach several times. Williamson also had burns on his arms and face.
Skeeter waived her right to appeal before a judge and did not testify before the grand jury.
Williamson's wake is scheduled for Friday.
Skeeter is due back in court on Oct. 20.
