Police say they arrested a woman who was caught on
doorbell camera as she broke into a Middle Island home.
Cheryl Liggon, of Mastic, was arraigned on a burglary charge late Tuesday afternoon in Central Islip.
Police say Liggon is the woman seen in video burglarizing the West Bartlett Road home, stealing clothes and other possessions.
News 12 spoke with the homeowner, who says his 19-year-old daughter with special needs was home during the break-in. He says he's glad an arrest was made.
Liggon had her fiance and some friends in court. A friend said that Liggon thought she was at another home and had "some issues."
Liggon's attorney said in court that she was checking herself into St. Charles drug rehab this week. He also requested medical attention, saying in court that she is pregnant.
A man seen in the doorbell video, who police say acted as a lookout, has not been charged.
