Nassau County police announced today that they have arrested a man in connection with a Great Neck abduction that occurred in November.
Investigators say they were led to Sirus Kashimallak, 50, after he approached a different woman this past Thursday at a bus stop on Stepping Stone Lane outside the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point.
According to police, the woman had knowledge of the previous abduction and contacted them after refusing to speak to Kashimallak.
Police say Kashimallak was positively identified as the man involved in the Nov. 21 Great Neck abduction. In that incident, investigators say he approached a 38-year-old woman at a bus stop and forced her into his Lexus at gunpoint. The woman said her kidnapper attempted to sexually assault her while driving around Great Neck before letting her go unharmed.
Kashimallak, from Great Neck, was arraigned on second-degree kidnapping and first-degree sexual abuse charges.
Police says Kashimallak demonstrated clear signs of predatory behavior by returning to the same location around the same time of day after the first attack.
Officials believe there may be more victims out there. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
