(AP) - A physical education teacher has beenaccused of beating and raping a female bartender inside a LongIsland tavern.

Michael Wachholder was arrested Wednesday on rape, aggravatedsexual abuse and assault charges. The 30-year-old teacher in theThree Village Central School District is scheduled for arraignmentThursday.

No telephone number could be found for his Rocky Point home, andauthorities were unsure whether he had a lawyer. The schooldistrict superintendent did not immediately return a telephone callWednesday evening.

Suffolk County police have said two men assaulted the bartenderwhile she was alone in the Mount Sinai tavern shortly after itopened Feb. 3. Police say they have no immediate information on thesecond man.
