An 85-year-old North Hills woman was scammed out of $49,000 while using her computer, police say.
Police say the woman received a prompt to call a phone number and spoke to a man who claimed to work for Microsoft.
Detectives say he told her to go to her bank and transfer $49,000 to another bank account.
After the transfer went through, police say the man then told her to send a copy of her driver's license and the bank receipt of the transfer to a phone number he gave her.
