Police: 64-year-old woman struck in the face while sleeping inside Levittown home

A 64-year-old woman was struck during a home invasion in Levittown over the weekend.

The incident happened near Straight Lane and North Lane on Sunday morning.

According to police, they were called to a home early Sunday for a possible burglary.

When police arrived, they learned a the woman was hit in the face by an unknown object while she was asleep.

News 12 has been told the suspect ran off in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to the hospital.

Detectives were on the scene for hours Sunday and say the investigation is ongoing.

There is not yet a description of the suspect or confirmation on whether or not this was a targeted incident.
