Six teenagers have been arrested for vandalizing the former Dowling College site, police say.
They say the suspects broke into the historic Idle House Mansion in Oakdale several different times around Memorial Day weekend. Antisemitic graffiti was then found on campus.
Police are not releasing the names of the five 17-year-olds and one 18-year-old because of their age.
The teenagers are facing charges, including criminal trespassing and burglary. Police: Swastikas found inside Idle Hour Mansion at former Dowling College
Residents of the Oakdale community formed a neighborhood watch group to keep an eye on the property.
Police also assigned a lieutenant to keep an eye on the campus and tell News 12 patrols will continue.
Suffolk County police also tell News 12 that they are working with the owner of the property to increase security and protect the historic mansion.
News 12 also reached out to the owners, Mercury International, and have not heard back.
