Police say a man has died after being struck by a car in Shirley.

According to police, the incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Detectives say a Subaru was heading east on Montauk Highway, just west of Camp Upton Road, when it struck Paul Moran, 57, who was crossing the street.

Moran died at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru was not hurt and remained on the scene.
