Police: 5 minors arrested for stealing dog in Elmont

Five minors were arrested for stealing a dog in Elmont, police say.
Detectives say a woman noticed her dog was missing Wednesday and received a message shortly after of an image of the five suspects holding her dog.
The message allegedly demanded the woman meet them in a parking lot on Gotham Avenue with $500 to get the dog back.
The woman contacted police, who went to the parking lot and arrested the juveniles.
The dog was returned to the victim unharmed.
