Police say four people were tied up during an armed home invasion in Bay Shore.
Two masked men armed with guns followed a 35-year-old woman into her Woodbine Avenue home in Bay Shore around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
Investigators say they tied up the homeowner, her 11-year-old son, her boyfriend and a friend. The men ransacked the home for about three hours and stole cash and items of value.
Police say the woman and her boyfriend were both beaten up, and one shot was fired into the basement.
Authorities say the suspects took off in the victim's car. It was found abandoned at the corner of East Third Avenue early Friday morning.
Police say the home was targeted because of "prior incidents that have occurred" at the house. They had no comment about what had previously occurred there.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
