Police say three men have been arrested for a burglary at Roosevelt Field Mall.
Investigators say the incident happened at Olivo's Restaurant Sunday just before 8 p.m.
Police say on Sunday, mall security saw two males watch the area. At the same time, a third went behind the counter at Olivo's and allegedly took cash from the register causing about $3,000 in damage.
Police say the suspects ran off on foot. Officers spotted the suspects in the lower-level parking garage and were able to arrest them. Michael Owens, 18, of East Rockaway, and Nicholas Fiearra, 19, of Lynbrook, were both charged with burglary. Araldo Reyes, 20, of Lynbrook, was also charged with burglary. Reyes was also charged with criminal mischief and criminal possession of a forged instrument after police found him with a forged New Jersey state license.
Ficarro pleaded not guilty on Monday.
Defense attorney Christopher Graziano says they will to look at surveillance video and police reports that could be used in the case.
As News 12 has reported, there has been an uptick in crime at the mall and police have stepped up their patrols to monitor the area.
Last month, a separate trio of suspects were accused of stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise from the Macy's and assaulting an officer.
Last week, an East Meadow man was charged with larceny after police say he stole handbags multiple times from the Tory Burch store.
All three defendants are due back in court at later dates.
