Police: East Meadow man arrested following string of thefts at Roosevelt Field Mall

An East Meadow man is under arrest after allegedly stealing from the Roosevelt Field Mall multiple times.
Detectives tell News 12 they were at the Tory Burch store investigating previous crimes on Tuesday, when 53-year-old David Wayne Thompson walked into the store.
Police say the Thompson started gathering handbags, putting them inside another bag and walked out.
Officers caught Thompson outside the store and placed him under arrest.
Police say Thompson is responsible for four other thefts at the same store.
All thefts were in the last seven days, totaling more than $9,000.
As News 12 has reported, last month Nassau police told News 12 they were going to increase patrols near the mall after a series of crimes.
