Police say three armed men burglarized a home in Medford early Tuesday morning in an apparent effort to obtain drugs.
They say the men, armed with handguns, broke into the home on Locust Avenue around 12:30 a.m.
Once inside, Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini says they used zip ties to restrain a woman and pistol-whipped a man.
Investigators say the couple's two young sons were also inside, as well as a friend. They say they were not harmed.
Police say the three suspects fled the home with marijuana, jewelry and cash.
Neighbors who spoke to News 12 said there is steady stream of traffic in and out of the home. Sini says police believe the home was targeted to obtain drugs.
Police say two of the suspects were wearing masks. The third was unmasked and described as being over 300 pounds.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
