One of two men accused of posing as maintenance workers to rob guests at a Ronkonkoma hotel was in court Monday.
Police say Matthew Caroli and Ryan DeMarco posed as workers at the Clarion Hotel near MacArthur Airport Sunday. Police also accuse Caroli, 35, of being involved in Suffolk County bank robberies in April and July.
The duo allegedly forced their way into a room and used a knife to demand cash, jewelry and a car.
Police say the victims fought back and subdued one suspect. The other allegedly forced himself into a different room at knifepoint to hide out.
Police arrived and arrested both men.
