A brawl that left plenty of damage in its wake in Garden City Park ended with two men under arrest, and one lying in the middle of a street, police say.
Police say they received a call Friday night about an unconscious man lying in the street at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Jericho Turnpike.
When police arrived, they say a victim was found with multiple cuts and swelling in his face, and was rushed to a hospital.
It wasn’t until afterwards that police learned what happened.
Vladimir Ramirez Fuentes, 35, of Hempstead, and Reyes Benjamin Molina Benitez, 38, of Garden City Park, got into an argument at the Latino Cafe and Bar on Jericho Turnpike, police say.
Officers say the argument became physical, and Ramirez Fuentes punched Benitez in the face. Ramirez Fuentes exited the cafe, and staff members locked the door, followed by Benitez allegedly throwing and breaking various items in the bar.
Police say staff unlocked the door for their safety, and Benitez left. The fight continued at the intersection where Benitez was later found by police.
Both men are facing charges.
