Two elderly twin sisters suffering from dementia who were reported missing on Monday have been found safe, according to River Edge police.

Margo Nelson and Gail Soehnlein, both 82 years old, were reported missing after leaving their home around 7:30 a.m. Monday. Police say they took off in a Gray Hyundai Elantra with Soehnlein at the wheel.

Officials say one of the sister's credit cards pinged Tuesday morning, when they were trying to buy gas in Jamaica, Queens.

The women’s families tell News 12 that the sisters were found safe in Montauk, Long Island. They are being checked out at a hospital on Long Island before coming back to New Jersey.
