Police say the 11-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy were then hit by one of the Jeep's tires. The children were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.
News 12 has been told there were eight people in the Jeep when it collided with another car around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
