Riverhead police say a teen was sent to the hospital after
being assaulted on Tuesday.
News 12 has been told officers responded to a hospital after a reported victim was
taken there.
When police arrived on the scene, they learned a
19-year-old had a fractured skull after being attacked by numerous unknown men.
During their investigation, detectives found the attack
happened Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Fairfield Pines East
apartment complex on Roanoke Avenue.
Police say one of the men struck the victim in head, torso and legs with a bat, causing serious
injuries to his head and contusions throughout
his body.

has been told the teen is still being treated at this hospital this
morning.
At this point, no arrests have been made.
