A shooting Friday night in Wyandanch left a woman injured and a man in critical condition, according to police.

Authorities say the two victims were sitting in a parked car on Winter Avenue when another vehicle pulled up to the passenger side.

A person inside the other vehicle opened fire, shooting the man in his head and the woman in her arm.

The woman drove to a hospital and was treated for her injuries. The man remains in critical condition, according to authorities.

Police say the shooting appears to be targeted. Residents told News 12 that they were shocked by the incident.

"You can't even sit in your car just enjoy an afternoon,” said Jeff Roberson. “I don't know much about the backstory, but my prayers are with the family.”
