A person has died after at least 4 people were brought back to shore following a water rescue in Long Beach, police say.

The Long Beach Police Department say the call for the rescue came in around 7 p.m. Thursday.

They say a group of at least four people was rescued, but one person went into cardiac arrest and died at an area hospital.

Police have not released additional information into what preceded the rescue.
