Despite Hurricane Sandy devastation, the city of Long Beach is packed with plenty to do during the summer months.

From fun in the sand and surf to a night out on the town, the 'City by the Sea' has it all. Get active by trying a surf lesson at Skudin Surf or flying high on a trapeze with iFly on the oceanfront.

If shopping is your thing, hit up Blue Bungalow or even the farmers market at Kennedy Plaza on Wednesdays and Saturdays. And don't forget about lunch or dinner! There is a variety of restaurants that feature live music and outdoor seating, such as Shoregasboard or the Jetty Bar and Grill.

If you want to party all night, as Long Beach has a bunch of bars and clubs, why not spend the night at the Allegria Hotel? On August 22, bring a beach chair and watch short films on Allegria's beachfront at the Long Beach International Film Festival.
