A pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on the golf course at the Bellport Country Club this morning.
Police say the pilot radioed the McArthur airport tower at around 6:15 a.m. saying he was experiencing engine failure.
The tower lost communication with the pilot, and that's when the pilot decided to land his plane on the golf course.
The plane clipped a tree on the way down, causing minimal damage to a wing.
The pilot was the only one onboard the 1973 Cessna, and is OK.
The FAA investigation is ongoing.
