Plainview man celebrates 25 years with transplanted lungs that saved his life

A Plainview man is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his double lung transplant. When Gary Klausner was 10, he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He says the life expectancy in 1975 for someone with the disease was around 16.

A Plainview man is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his double lung transplant.
When Gary Klausner was 10, he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. He says the life expectancy in 1975 for someone with the disease was around 16.
Klausner was 33 when he was told his only chance for long-term survival was to have a double lung transplant.
He is thankful for his new lungs that gave him another chance at life.
"I want to be the voice of motivation, inspiration to everyone," Klausner says. "Not just someone facing lunge transplants, but everyone facing life's challenges.
