A woman who counseled domestic violence victims is accused of stealing the identity of a senior citizen she once helped.
Nassau police say Petal Foster, of Brooklyn, was arrested yesterday on identity theft charges.
According to police, a 72-year-old woman was trying to buy a cellphone when she was told she was a co-signer of a car loan for over $37,000.
The victim never co-signed a loan, but she did recognize the name on the loan as a counselor for a Brooklyn-based agency she used last year.
Foster was arraigned yesterday in Hempstead.
