A pedestrian was killed Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Irish Lane and Union Boulevard in East Islip, according to police.
The incident happened at approximately 6:15 p.m.
The man was transported to Southshore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he died.
Union Boulevard, Carleton Avenue and Irish Lane are shut down while detectives investigate.
