In this week's Paws & Pals, Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter presented three dogs looking for their 'furever' homes.
Emma is a 7-year-old girl who has been at the shelter for five years. She is excited to meet all people, but would be best in a home where she is the only pet. Emma loves going on long walks and nature trails.
Nala is a 5-year-old girl who was surrendered with her sister when her family was moving and could not take them along. Her sister has since been adopted, but Nala still waits for her new home. Nala is very sweet and loves treats, but she is still stressed at the shelter and so she does not immediately interact with people meeting her. The shelter says she's making a lot of progress, and they believe once she is in a home with a new, loving and patient family, she will thrive again.
Emmett is an 8-year-old Purebred American Bulldog. He can be wary meeting new people at first, but once he gets to know you, he is an extremely loving and affectionate dog that loves to be pet and snuggled. Despite his age, Emmett is a strong, healthy dog that is still very playful—especially with other dogs. He would do best in a quiet adult-only home. Emmett knows many commands and loves to perform them for treats and praise.
