Nassau County's acting police commissioner was officially sworn in Monday afternoon, becoming the county's full-fledged top cop.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder formally dropped the "acting" part of his title at the ceremony.
He also took time to respond to weekend allegations that he sexually harassed female coworkers.
"I did not, and I would not ever, degrade a woman -- ever," he said. "I am here to tell you none of these accusations are true, and it was investigated this past weekend."
Lawmakers have confirmed that an investigation by the county attorney's office found the allegations were fabricated.
Ryder first replaced former acting Commissioner Thomas Krumpter in July.
