The 19-year-old host of a party at which a Massapequa teen was found dead was charged Monday after police say he did nothing to help the girl after she passed out.
Police say Seewoo Sung, of Seaford, was cleaning up beer cans and alcohol containers while the girl?s father tried to resuscitate her. The man's attorney says his client did not turn himself in for charges related to the girl's death.
According to police, 18-year-old Natalie Ciappa, of Massapequa, was found unconscious Saturday morning in the garage of a home on South Street. Officials say she was found by her parents, who began looking for her when she did not return home from the party held at the home on Friday night. Police say Ciappa was taken to New Island Hospital where she was pronounced dead. According to police, the death is being treated as a homicide and they are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results from the medical examiner.
Ciappa was a senior at Plainedge High School and was set to graduate this week.
Sung is charged with tampering with physical evidence and faces between one and four years.
