Cooler trend through Friday with low temps dropping to the 50s at night

News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Julian Seawright says a touch of autumn weather trend will continue this week, bringing lower than normal temperatures in the 70s and lower humidity. Temperatures will remain in the 70s during the day, and in the 50s at night through Friday. Into the weekend, we are expecting to warm back up with some humidity returning.
Rain is not expected in the next several days for Long Island. However, there is a very low opportunity for an isolated sprinkle or shower just before the evening commute. Otherwise, high pressure will continue to promote sunshine and dry conditions throughout the work week.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and very cool. Lows in the mid-50s. Normal lows are 66 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny with some afternoon clouds. It will be cool throughout the day with low humidity. Highs in the low to mid-70s. Lows in the mid-50s.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and a little warmer. Highs in the mid- to upper 70s. Lows near 60 degrees.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, warmer and a little more humid. Highs near 80 degrees. Lows in the mid-60s.
THE WEEKEND: This weekend will be fairly normal for this time of year. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s. A little sticky but not very humid. Some clouds with plenty of sunshine is expected leading to a dry weekend perfect for outdoor activities.
