A grand jury has reduced the charge against a Miller Place father who allegedly killed a teen over his son being taunted.
The Suffolk County jury downgraded the murder charge against John White to second-degree manslaughter. White recently pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on $100,000 bond for the August 9 incident. Authorities say Aaron White, the suspect?s son, got into a fight with Daniel Cicciaro Jr. at a party over a girl. When White left the party, Cicciaro reportedly followed him home where an argument ensued.
Daniel Cicciaro Sr. and Joanne Cicciaro say they are hurt by the decision and feel White meant to kill their son when he shot the boy in the face. If convicted, White could face a maximum of 15 years in prison.
