The parents of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie are expected to meet for mediation to resolve an emotional distress lawsuit filed by Petito’s mother and father.

Petito’s parents claim the Laundrie’s knew their son killed the Blue Point native during a cross-country road trip but intentionally withheld that information from them.

The Laundrie family has denied the allegation. However, court documents state that they acknowledged their son called to say Petito was “gone” and that he would need a lawyer.

If the mediation is unsuccessful, the case will go to trial in May.
