Rockland County cheerleaders are celebrating a big win after taking first place at a national competition in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Orangetown Patriots Junior Pee Wee cheer team earned the top spot at the Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Nationals held last week.

The team is made up of girls ages 10 and 11 from Pearl River, South Orangetown, Nanuet, and Clarkstown.

Rep. Mike Lawler presented the team with certificates of achievement in recognition of their accomplishment.
