Old Westbury Gardens welcomed back visitors on Thursday.
Nancy Costopulos, the president of Old Westbury Gardens, says they normally open toward the end of April, but it mostly depends on the weather and how the garden looks.
"When you come walk around the gardens, it's greened up very quickly because of the rain," she says.
Even though the Westbury House is closed due to construction, people are still free to roam the grounds, including the walled garden.
New events will be held in June, such as the Great Pine Railway, which will represent historic properties on Long Island.
Reservations are required and can be made online
