Officials: Woman rescued from burning home in Central Islip

Police responded to a 911 report of a fire at a home on Oakland Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say a woman was rescued from a burning home in Central Islip on Tuesday night.
Police responded to a 911 report of a fire at a home on Oakland Avenue at 9:15 p.m.
Fire officials tell News 12 the female was trapped on the second floor of the home.
According to officials, an adult female resident of the house was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Two police officers were transported for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
A total of six fire departments responded to the scene.
