yesterdayA police officer was assaulted early Monday at the Walmart near the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, officials say.
News 12 is told 28-year-old Destiny Swaby, of Brooklyn, became violent and combative when officers attempted to arrest her.
Detectives say store employees called 911 when they saw Swaby take merchandise and walk out without paying.
One officer was injured during the scuffle.
In addition to assault, Swaby is also charged with resisting arrest and petit larceny.
