An NYPD officer from Lake Grove has been charged with possessing child pornography.
According to police, Steven Marksberry, 50, of Lake Grove, was arrested at 12:58 p.m. on June 20 at his home and charged with one count of possession of a sexual act by a child.
Marksberry was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court in Central Islip on July 10.
NYPD confirms Marksberry has been suspended without pay.
