Multiple fires burned across the Town of Brookhaven Tuesday.
The fires came one after the other - and now Suffolk police arson investigators are looking into what happened.
Chief Kevin Hoffman, of the Medford Fire Department, said about an acre of woods burned
in the woods near Bloomington Street before the fire was put out.
Our News 12 crew was on Bloomington Street when crews raced to the scene of another fire in the woods behind Twelve Pines Park.
Smoke from that fire could be seen for miles.
Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico says firefighters spent hours racing from scene to scene on Tuesday.
"This is the third fire in Medford alone. We had a fire in Farmingville, one in Brookhaven Hamlet." said Panico.
Some neighbors say they watched it all unfold on their doorbell cameras and could see the flames burning right outside their homes.
