Officials broke ground on the first affordable workforce housing complex in Glen Cove in more than a decade.
The 55-unit mixed income, multifamily complex is located on Dickson Street.
The goal is to revitalize and transform the waterfront space along Hempstead Harbor into a vibrant place to live.
"More housing, density where it makes sense and taking this area, a brown field, a toxic area and turning it into gorgeous housing, beautiful community including affordable housing which we know we desperately need here in Nassau County," says Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.
The project is part of the Garvies Point Master Development plan.
