Two Nassau County police officers were injured while making an arrest in Levittown, officials say.
Detectives tell News 12 that Dashawn Tompkins attempted to run from the officers after a vehicle he was riding in was pulled over on Gardiners Avenue.
Two other people in the car had orders of protection against Tompkins, who had initially given officers a fake name and birthday, officials say.
One officer suffered broken ribs and a broken wrist. The other officer suffered minor injuries.
