Officials: 10 people hospitalized following carbon monoxide leak at East Meadow home

According to fire officials, a call came in just after 9 p.m. Monday and crews responded to a home on Buchanan Road.

A carbon monoxide incident in East Meadow sent 10 people to the hospital, including four children, officials say.
According to fire officials, a call came in just after 9 p.m. Monday and crews responded to a home on Buchanan Road.
There were 11 people inside the home, ranging in age from 3 weeks to 40 years old.
A total of six adults and four children were all sent to the hospital after showing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and all having very high readings of exposure.
One person refused medical attention and no first responders were injured.
The cause and source of the leak is still unknown.
As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, there were no further updates into the conditions of those sent to the hospital.
