Officials: 1 person dead, 2 injured in East New York building fire

National Grid has cut the power at the location and Red Cross is on scene.

A fire on Vermont Street tore through the ground floor of a building early Tuesday morning. NYPD has confirmed to News 12 that a man succumbed to his injuries. Another man is still in critical condition, while a firefighter was also transported to the hospital and is being treated for minor injury.
National Grid has cut the power at the location and Red Cross is on scene.
Bikes, propane tanks, a radiator, and a stove are all things seen in the rubble.
The FDNY tells News 12 the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A full vacate order has been issued at the scene of the fire.
