Suffolk detectives say a man was injured in a Central Islip shooting on Saturday.
They say Amos Michael was shot in the leg on the corner of East Elm Street and Lowell Avenue. 
The 27-year-old told officers he was talking with friends when shots rang out near the Palace Plaza shopping center.
No arrests have been made.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
