Officials say time is running short for 9/11 first responders to register for health benefits.

Ground Zero workers and volunteers who were sickened by toxins have until Oct. 3 to register for the Victim Compensation Fund. The fund is part of the Zadroga Act that was passed by Congress.

Officials say even if you're a responder who shows no ill health effects right now, you are encouraged to sign up.
