NYPD and city officials are stepping up their efforts to crack down on drunk driving and ensure a safe New Year’s Eve for New Yorkers.
Officers from the NYPD Highway Patrol will be out on major roads, highways and streets known for drivers speeding and armed with radar detectors. Speed cameras will also be on to capture cars going more than 10 miles over the speed limit.
