A rookie NYPD officer had a beside arraignment at Nassau University Medical Center Saturday for a fatal accident that killed a fellow officer.
Danielle Baymack, 22, pleaded not guilty to felony charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. According to police, Baymack was drunk when she lost control of her car on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh Friday. Baymack?s car crashed into a light pole, killing her passenger and fellow NYPD officer Marlene Rivera, 24. Baymack suffered minor injuries. The two had graduated from the police academy two months ago and worked at the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica.
Officials say Baymack?s blood alcohol content was .11, which is above the legal limit of .08. Her bail was set at $40,000 bond or $15,000 cash.
